Keminmaa youth home; 7th year has started

Since 2003 our youth home has provided protection, care and
upbringing to youngsters from 12 to 18 years. Our institute
can take care of 24 boys and girls, also aftercare is the thing
for us. We have a dorm, 5 rooms and many of our aftercare
youngsters live in cities near-by.

Keminmaa juvenile home locates in a scenic site nearby
Kemi-river. Multiple possibilities of hobbies, interests and the
use of spare time lies relatively near. In direct use there are
over 1600 square metres of room.

Goals in functions are to create social, physical and mental
frame for youngsters in rehabilitation in order to improve and
develop towards better lifecontrol. We emphasize in going
through crisis, finding new behavioural patterns and learning
to take responsibilities. With every youngster we make
upbringing plans which are supported by two personal
educators, man and a woman. Care is amendatory and
targeting preventive behaviour, all this by giving time for
every youngsters healing rhythm and adaptation.

Many new contacts and plans have been made here in
Finland and in european level. We have visited De Wissel last
year and they have been in Keminmaa the year before. Also
multi-level cooperation in Finland has started with quality
group Pohjankodit.
